"It's fantastic," said Shore, who added a packet of "Fresh Air" in a gallon of taupe-colored paint when she painted the walls in her Jackson home's family room.

"It's light and has altered the smell of the house. And I enjoy the fragrance," said Shore about the Paint SCENTsations.

People like Shore, who recently bought a home that had been closed up for at least two years, are turning to scents ranging from citrus to lavender to cut odors.

Paint SCENTsations is a paint additive packaged in 1 ounce packets and 10 ounce bottles.

The packets are great for first time users or smaller projects, while the bottles are more economical and well suited for the commercial customer.

Paint SCENTsations comes in six fragrances: Sea Breeze, Citrus Squeeze, Vanilla Bean, Fresh Air, Herbal Mist and Clean & Crisp.

Paint Scentsations works well with any kind of paint and has no effect on the performance of the paint which acts as its carrier. It can reduce unit down-time, eliminate the expense of ozone treatments, foggers, sealers and other expensive smell busters and avoids the even less appealing use of plug-in air fresheners, which is, he said, "a red flag for prospective renters." At the NAA conference last summer in Las Vegas, Simon offered a free sample of his product to Kacey Hansberry, a property manager for an apartment community in Las Vegas.
